M&G Regular Mallets are easily defined by the black rings around the handle. The head of the mallet is softer than the M&G Attack version, and produces a smooth and round sound on most drums. It is also the lighter option of the two models and comes in a variety of colours.
The M&G Attack Model is heavier and more dense than the M&G Regular. The handle is similar to a snare stick handle. It produces a round sound, but with more attack on the initial hit of the note. It comes in a variety of colours with white and black being the most popular. Both varieties of mallets are played by non-competing and competing bands from Grade 5 to Grade 1.
